Subject: cipecb module fails to load in 2.0.39fin (fwd)

 Greetings,

I have built a new kernel, and compiled cipe 1.4.2 without problems, but
when I try to load the CIPE module, I get:

 [root@test1 misc]# insmod cipcb.o
 cipcb.o: unresolved symbol init_task

 If I look in /boot/System.map I see:

 001c9dc0 D init_task

It appears that the symbol is available in the kernel, but cipcb.o
 cannot find it.

Any idea why this would happen?

 Thanks,

 Matt

 Some notes:

The kernel is 2.0.38 with patches applied for IPChains, and device
drivers, plus the 2.0.39final patch from David Weinehall, maintainer of
the 2.0.x series of Linux kernels. The kernel is built in a non-root
directory, and builds just fine. CIPE is built in a non-root directory
with the --with-linux= flag set. Only one minor Warning is found (see
earlier thread on CIPE failing to compile under 2.0.38.), but Olaf says
 it's a harmless warning.
