uhmm.. no, ifup is a RH script that runs a device specific script, eg
ifup-cipcb (taken from RH7 cipe). it does indeed start the ciped-cb
daemon.

stragenst thing is that if{up,down} cipcb1 /always/ works,
irrespective of whether cipcb0 was starteed first or not.

1.5.1 does not have this problem - i'm running a that at home on
kernel 2.4.2-pre3. however i can not get the kernel module for 1.5.1
to build on RH 2.2.16-3 kernel.
