Subject: Non-functional cipe connection

I am having trouble with one of my cipe connections. This connection used
to work but doesn't seem to now. What happens is that a couple of packets
seem to make it through, but after that nothing happens. I'd love to add
load the kernel module with debugging enabled, but we heavilly use CIPE
between our production systems and the systems are up 24 hours a day with
users in enough time zones (e.g., North America, Europe, Australia) that
there is no good time to shut the CIPE module down.

The other end is at one of our clients and it is an LRP (Linux Router
Project) box that we have running a ping to our system (10.100.0.53) for
debugging. I see the pings via tcpdump but I don't see my machine making
any replies. I see the error count in ifconfig read section constantly
going up.

Here is debugging from the daemon side:

# ciped-cb -o /etc/cipe/options.cipcb3 debug=1 ping=1
CIPE daemon vers 1.3.0 (c) Olaf Titz 1996-1998
