1) i've moved to 1.5.2 recompiling an unofficial package for debian,
and this solved the ``unknown control'' problem... also this seems to
solve the crash/quit of ciped

2) but now sometime there's no key exchange, the fixed ip host receive
the information about the change of ip:

Jul 2 12:57:30 gaia kernel: cipcb27: new peer 62.122.18.2:1026

but there's no key exchange, so the link won't work.

cipe, debian, 2.4.5, iptables and some strange errors...

I've setup a cipe tunnel via two slow link (a IDSL 128K, fixed IP, and
a ISDN dialup 64K, dynip) with the unstable (for debian ;) cipe package
1.4.5, recompiled for potato (stable) and with minor patch for the
ip_select() third parameter added from 2.4.4.

Kernel are both end 2.4.5, and both end run iptables, with some chain
specifically tighted to the cipcbX interfaces...
For now i've only one interfaces, cipcb27, and sometimes i test with
cipcb5.

All seems work, except for two problem:

1) logs are full of lines like:

Jun 21 14:27:51 gaia ciped-2.4.5[6925]: unknown control -57

with ``-57'' as an example, full of sort of negative or positive
integer ;)

2) sometimes, and at both ends (but not at the same time), ciped die. A
clean die, they remove also the pid, but die. See log...

Jun 21 11:06:14 gaia kernel: cipcb27: unalloc
Jun 21 11:06:14 gaia kernel: cipcb: cipe_unalloc_dev 27

For now i've put a crontab that check if ciped was alive, and if not
restart it.

I don't know if this is a know problem, and i've to pass to 1.5.2 to
solve it, or instead i've found some sort of bug.

I've tried to install the 1.5.2 in a test machine (recompiling the
unofficial debian package found in http://non-us.debian.org/~bjb/ with
minor patches for a potato enviroment) and seems that at least the
``unknown control'' problem are solved.
But this test machine have no iptables, and i cannot stress the other
end too much without risks... ;-)

Thanks.
