Subject: choice of ptpaddr and ipaddr

hi,
i want to connect the two lans at geographically different locations using
cipe.
the lan 1 gateway machine has eth0 = 192.168.1.1 and eth1 = a.b.c.d
the lan 2 gateway machine has eth0 = 192.168.2.1 and eth1 = w.x.y.z
both a.b.c.d and w.x.y.z are real (internet) ip adresses.

in the options file on lan 1 gateway machine
ptpaddr = 192.168.2.1
ipaddr = 192.168.1.1

my confusion is that this will result in both the cipe device and eth0
having the same ip adress i.e 192.168.1.1
simailar thing will happen on lan 2 gateway machine.

is it acceptable for ipaddr and eth0 to have the same ip address?
thanks,
manohar
