Ok... I have a RH7.1 (cipe 1.5.2 ) and an nt4 system. Each system has
only 1 network card. I assume this is ok, though I don't recall reading
it anywhere. When we start cipe then we can ping the cipe-addresses
with no problem, but as soon as I have the nt user add a route to my
network address nothing works.
Here is an overview of my setup.
NT4
===
ptpaddr 10.10.1.1
ipaddr 10.10.2.1
me 62.20.7.171:aaaa
peer 194.218.230.112:bbbb
key [key]
RHat
====
device cipcb0
ptpaddr 10.10.2.1
ipaddr 10.10.1.1
me 194.218.230.112:bbbb
peer 62.20.7.171:aaaa
key [key]
I had read issues dealing with iptables, so I am using ipchains. I am
forwarding all packets that come from 10.10.2.0 to 10.10.1.0 and vice
versa. I am also forwarding packets from 10.10.2.0 to 194.218.230.96.
I don't really think this should be necessary but I am doing it anyway.
We bring up cipe, with no ip-up scripts, and we can ping each other
10.10.x.x address. I have my nt-user
route add 194.218.230.96 mask 255.255.255.224 10.10.1.1
and then nothing works anymore... What gives?
Since we are able to ping each-others ptp addresses I feel the problem
must be routing related, but I don't know where to look.
