Have you put the following line in /etc/cipe/options.cipcb0? If not, try it.
This is important for ppp connection. 9901 is port number you can change to
other port as you want.

Subject: Opendev bind: cannot assign requested address
I am trying to get cipe to work on my laptop. but I am
getting the following error on startup
\"opendev: bind: Cannot assign requested address\"
The system is running RedHat 7.1 but with kernel
2.4.9-21 and cipe-1.4.5-6 (RedHat rpm installed)
The internet connection is a pcmcia ORINOCO wireless card.
the config files /etc/cipe/options.cipcb0 and
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-cipcb0 work just fine on
a desktop system with the same kernel and a eepro100 ethernet card.
Although I have have found some similar threads in the archives there
do not seem to be any answers.
Any help would be appreciated
