I'm trying to get a cipe VPN working in RH8. I'm using the
redhat-config-network tool to do the setup. BTW: there are a few bugs
in it when it comes to ciped.

Anyway, I'm getting the following message in my /var/log/messages file
on the ciped server computer:

Mar 13 17:44:45 ifup-cipcb: cipcb started for cipcb0
Mar 13 17:44:45 ciped-cb[18555]: CIPE daemon vers 1.4.5 (c) Olaf Titz
1996-2000
Mar 13 17:44:45 kernel: cipcb0: alloc
Mar 13 17:44:45 kernel: cipcb0: ciped version mismatch

Any ideas why this is occuring ? I've got the same version of ciped
installed on the client computer, but I don't get any error messages
there, other than it won't connect to the <non running> server:
