Same here for 2.4.20

Why don't you simply try? I've seen ugly kernel panics(*) after much more
simple changes like enabling another iptables target - at least they did
vanish after a cipe re-compile.

(*) During boot of a computer that is located several hundreds of
kilometers away from here, no one there who could deal with that, and I
had almost no time to fix it.
