Chuck,

You are missing configure file in the cipe directory. You can either redownload
the cipe distribution or recreate configure file by running autoconf in cipe directory:

$ cipe-1.5.4> autoconf

After that "./configure; make; make install" should work.

Christoph,
First, thank you very much for your kind assistance. I followed your advice and
also read the README (actually read the REAME before I ask the list.)
Here is what my server tells me when I try these things.

[root@ce5500 cipe-1.5.4]# /configure --without-pkcipe
bash: /configure: No such file or directory
[root@ce5500 cipe-1.5.4]# ./configure --without-pkcipe
bash: ./configure: No such file or directory
[root@ce5500 cipe-1.5.4]# make
make: *** No targets.  Stop.
[root@ce5500 cipe-1.5.4]#

This is where I get lost. It would seem (I really dont know) that my server is
missing a required or needed component. May I ask of the "well of knowledge"
yet again. Have you every seen this before? Any ideas what my problem might be?
For troubleshooting purposes Here is some additional information.
