rkcat Info: - rkcat is a client program to the rk*_server-family.
- rkcat reads data out of a Simatic and prints them to stdout.
Data can afterwords be processed by common Unix/Linux standard tools. There is no need for any programming. Data is emitted as a line per reading cycle.
- rkcat reads data blocks (DB).
A given DB can be read once, cyclically with adjustable time base, or from a special FIFO output.
- rkcat contains options to optimize the output for a CSV file.
This feature can be used to import data into a spreadsheet. Sample: you can specify representation of decimals ...
- data representation can be scaled by multipliers.
- data representation can be manipulated using a format string in printf-syntax.
- rkcat enables reading a Simatic fifo output.
RKCAT does require a running rk*_server. You may use either the DEMO version of rk*_server or the licensed version.
